The Community Services programs at Villa Colombo provide stimulating activities in a culturally sensitive environment to individuals (over 50) of Italian origin suffering from cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease, the ageing process, other diseases or brain injuries.
As a patient, family member, substitute decision maker or caregiver, you have the right to expect that every employee, Board member and contracted health service provider shall respect and promote your rights. Please read the Patient Bill of Rights here.
Villa Colombo Toronto provides Information & Referral assistance via the telephone, Internet, directories and in person to Italian-Canadians in the Community. Villa Colombo Toronto personnel help to connect people to services to assist with major and minor life moments, from financial assistance, care assistance, applications to long-term care to funeral planning.
By listening in a nonthreatening, non-judgmental, and confidential manner, Villa Colombo Toronto staff and volunteers have supported and helped clients understand their situations and worked to empower them to make informed decisions about possible solutions. Villa Colombo Toronto has assisted people who are in crisis and in emergency situations. Villa Colombo Toronto advocates on behalf of individuals who need additional support.
Villa Colombo Toronto staff can assist community members with finding and printing government forms. If you need assistance filling out a form contact our office and we may be able to help you by providing computer and internet access, or form support. The Diner’s Club is a social program where seniors can gather in the common rooms at Casa Del Zotto for a warm Italian meal with the opportunity to socialize, relax and reunite.
The Meals on Wheels program delivers (if residing in the catchment area) affordable, nutritious and delicious hot Italian meals to members of the community who are unable to prepare their own food. Meals on Wheels helps people continue living independently while maintaining a healthy diet.
Villa Colombo Toronto’s Meals on Wheels program can accommodate special diets, i.e., diabetic, low salt and pureed diets, etc. Meals include, pasta or soup, main entrée of meat or fish and salad or vegetable, and fruit for dessert.

The Supportive Housing program is a community-based service promoting independent living to eligible residents who reside in Casa Del Zotto, Caboto Terrace and Casa Abruzzo.
The program includes:
- Assistance with personal care
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders
- Safety checks
- Light meal preparation
- Wellness and education
- Referral to community resources and assistance navigating the health care system
Services are provided by Personal Support Workers (PSWs). Through an on-going assessment process, you and the case manager and program supervisor mutually agree upon your service plan.
There is no service fee for eligible seniors. The program is funded by Ontario Health atHome.

Our day programs provide supervised day programming in a group setting for dependent seniors, such as the frail elderly, individuals with Alzheimer’s, or other chronic health issues and disabilities. On-site support services may include leisure activities, meals, spiritual enrichment, personal care and hair dressing services (at an additional fee).
The program is funded by Ontario Health atHome.
Individual and group activities are geared to stimulate the participant’s memory while providing a creative outlet for seniors to flourish in a friendly and supervised environment, including:

- Arts and Crafts
- Exercise Classes
- Baking and Cooking
Villa Colombo Toronto partners with iRidePlus to provide easy and affordable driving services to support the independence of older adults.
To register for our Adult Day Programs, you must contact Home and Community Care
Support Services (formerly called the LHIN). In-home and on-site assessments are conducted by health care professionals to determine the client’s suitability for the program. Daily program and transportation fees apply for all program registrants. (Subsidies available for qualified applicants).
